Dive into the Water's Wonders

SCUBA diving has been my passion since I took my first breath underwater in 1996. Since that moment I have made over 200 dives and spent over 150hours underwater and achieved PADI Divemaster status. I have been diving in California, North Carolina, Florida, Hawaii, Grand Caymen, Belize and Australia; and hope to add many more locations to this list. One of my favorite ways to spend my dive is with a camera hoping to capture the pure serenity and beauty surrounding me in this liquid world.

What started as a hobby grew into an obsession and eventually into part of my profession. I recently finished my Masters degree at the College of Marine Studies within the Unviersity of Delaware. My thesis was investigating the photosynthetic breakdown within zooxanthellae, the symbiotic algae inside corals and other tropical invertebrates that give them their color, during coral bleaching events. This requires me to travel to tropical dive locations, such as Belize and Florida, for field research purposes. I am hoping to get into a PhD program to continue this work.

What follows is a small selection of my favorite photography from almost all the places I have been. Some spots have more than others as my time spent diving there and the quality of my camera equipment varied from location to location. I hope you enjoy these photos. These pages will be best viewed with a high speed connection due to the size and amount of photography. Please do not use these photographs without my permission.
